
Environmental Care
Protection of the environment is one of our top priorities. In 2005 our management systems and practices were successfully audited and we were accredited by Lloyds Register with the ISO 14001 certificate.
It is the Policy of Jo Tankers to operate their vessels and offices in the most efficient and effective manner, to avoid waste and wherever possible to conserve energy in all aspects of its work and operations. In doing so the Company undertakes to be economical in all its uses of finite resources and thereby protects the environment.
Jo Tankers recognizes the importance of a suitable level of care in respect of the protection of the environment. The Company has identified the following specific sub groups of pollution that pose a specific environmental risk and developed an identified response to each topic:

The Company recognizes that the prevention and gradual reduction in environmental damage is a matter for careful examination of existing procedures / equipment / work practices and that by thoughtful forward development of future projects, environmental damage can be continuously reduced.
In this respect the company has identified existing vessels and future buildings separately in the development of written environmental policies.
Jo Tankers has made a commitment to work towards a continual improvement of the Company’s environmental Performance, and to prevent pollution.
